Homemade Kadhas with common kitchen spices and ingredients

remedies and herbal immunity boosters in India. People have made a return to
the Ayurvedic medicinal culture and consuming herbal health-boosting kadhas to

Kadha is an Ayurvedic drink including herbs and spices which
are typically boiled in water for a length of time, allowing all of the
medicinal benefits to be extracted. Kadha is especially helpful during the cold
and dry season when allergies can arise.

kadha, you may try this recipe. The immunity-boosting drink is made with common
Indian spices like Moti elaichi or green elaichi, Kacchi Haldi (fresh
turmeric), Laung (cloves), Kali mirch (black peppercorns), Tulsi (basil
leaves), Dal chini (cinnamon), Adrak (ginger).
INGREDIENTS –
- Moti elaichi (Green elaichi) - 2-3
- Fresh turmeric
- Cloves - 3-4
- Black peppercorns - 5-6
- Tulsi - 5-6 leaves
- Cinnamon (Dal Chini) - 1 small stick
- Ginger - 1 tsp
- Munakka – 5-6
- Honey or jaggery - 1/2tsp or to taste
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF THESE INGREDIENTS –
- Ginger: Ginger has anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties. It also improves digestion and cough relief. It also relieves in nausea, easing cold and flu, reduces muscle pain and soreness
- Basil Leaves (Tulsi): It is a healing herb that helps in treating cold, congestion, cough and flu. It has also immunity boosting properties. It also reduces high blood pressure and cholesterol, aids in headache, earaches and eye disorders, lowers the blood sugar and boosts the immunity to fights against infections.
- Black Pepper: It is Anti-inflammatory in nature, and has rich antioxidant properties. It benefits brain health, improves blood sugar control, relief in pain, and may have cancer-fighting properties.

HOW TO MAKE THIS IMMUNITY-BOOSTING KADHA –
- Wash, peel and Crush the raw turmeric and ginger in a mortar and pestle.
- Then boil it in 4 cups of water until the colour turns yellow and you start getting a whiff of ginger. This should take 5-6 minutes on medium heat.
- Then add the rest of the ingredients in the turmeric-ginger water and let it boil on simmer for at least 15-20 minutes.
- The water will reduce, so adjust the quantity according to how many cups you want to make.
- Put 1 tsp honey or jaggery in a cup and strain the kadha.

This is amazing kadha but it has very strong taste. So, the Organic Chyawanprash is best for immunity.
