The Karonde & Mirchi Ki Sabji Recipe is a very traditional pickle that you can find in Northern India. It’s a berry like tart fruit which grows in the Himalayas. Karonde is rich in Iron and Vitamin C. Karonda has a very distinct taste and use. It can be served with parathas, poori, etc.
Karonde, in India, are used to make spices or side dishes.
To make Karonde ki sabji, it is combined with green chilies and other spices.
Karonde ki sabji is tangy, spicy and has a hint of sweetness along with the
flavors of other spices. Karonde ki sabji is very easy and simple to make.

There are a number of reasons to include Karonde in your
diet. Here are a few:

INGREDIENTS FOR KARONDA KI SABJI RECIPE –
- 1 cup Karonde, washed and cut into halves
- 6 large green chilies, chopped and whole
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 tbsp of Mustard oil
- 2 tsp Panch phoron
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- ½ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 pinch Asafoetida (hing)
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 Lemon juice
- Water as required

INSTRUCTIONS TO KARONDA KI SABJI –
- To begin making the Karonde Mirchi Ki Sabji Recipe, first prepare all the ingredients and keep them ready by the side.
- In a pan heat 2 tbsp of mustard oil.
- Once hot, add in 2 tsp of panch phoron. Let the spices crackle.
- Now ad Chopped onion and cook it till it turns translucent.
- Add in 2 tsp of coriander powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder, and salt to taste.
- add the asafoetida and stir for a few seconds.
- Add in ¼ cup of water. Cook the spices for a couple of minutes.
- Add in 1 cup chopped Karonde and 6 large chopped and whole green chilies.
- Mix everything well. Cook for a minute.
- Cover and let it cook on low heat for about 10 to 12 minutes until it’s good to eat.
- Add in ¼ cup of water. Cover and cook for 5-7 minutes.
- Cook till the Karonde till become soft and the water is all absorbed.
Serve the Karonde Mirchi
Ki Sabji with Parathas for breakfast, lunch or dinner or store in an airtight
container in the fridge upto a week.
